About

Maria is an emerging London artist interested in the abstract 3D work. Her art practice challenges the relationship between control, freedom and beauty. She uses a variety of mediums to communicate her vision.

What is truly beautiful? Let art be too controlled, and it becomes sterilised. Let it be completely free, and it becomes chaotic. Maria explores natural shapes, with all of their imperfections, yet beautiful. She allows happy accidents to happen, playing with materials and their response to the natural forces of gravity and tension. Maria’s artistic interest lies on the crossroads of architecture, sculpture and performance.
